Slavonian wedding custom from area around Đakovo. At midnight, the godfather brings branch decorated with "pucojke", babies and apple, and he sells it at auction. All money raised goes to the newlyweds. In Slavonia, just at the wedding people dance couple dance called "Mađarac". There is also admitted dance called "Kukunješće", which here got his version of dance styles and musical figures.

Time of the old Slavonian harvest is the time of hard work. Therefore is the end of the harvest that is marked by special custom, because the best "klas" is left for the end to throw it down by the best harvester. After prayer goes dancing and happiness.

In the Slavonian Posavina each village has its own walking "kolo" whith slow and the fast walking. In these walkings , which are performed a'capella you may see different figures: circle, "lady's finger," the snake, and certainly the most effective "wheel to wheel" and "grindstone."

BARANJSKI SVATOVSKI ADET - Stipi Brdariću
Baranja (ba ra nia) weddings in the late 19th century are actually composed of a series of customs that are put together one after another. This choreography presents some of them : Engagement -giving an apple, the bride saying goodbye to her mother, exiting from the church, the bride's entry into the new house and the custom called mare which finishes the wedding. The oldest instrument in this area is the bagpipes. Bagpipers are in weddings demonstrating their dominance and creativity. They created melodies which were played only by one piper.

U BUNJEVCA SALAŠ BILI
Subotica (suu bo tice a) is an area of superior wheat production where there is a heritage of Croats called Bunjevci (boon yet c). The most important dance is a boys dance. In that dance, boys compete to decide who is the best dancer. They have bells on their boots to emphasize the steps. Girls wear silk belts on their waist. One hundred years ago the girls were able to buy silk from Lyon France and Prague, Czech Republic because the wheat production made them rich. Costumes are original.

In villages around our Capital Zagreb, not long ago, women who prepare the wedding banquet, dance a special dance. The name of this dance is Sukačko.(Suu katch co) After that dance they dance Polka and Drmeš (Dramesh), which has a special form called Drmačica (Shaking dance). Characteristic of this dance is shaking of body while dancer is standing in same place. Costumes are original, more than 80 years old.
