40 years of KUD “Tena”

MUSIC VIDEO OF KUD “TENA”: “Moderna folklorna avantura”

As part of the celebration of its 40th anniversary, the cultural and artistic society “Tena” from Đakovo created its first music video. The video showcases a blend of the traditional and the modern — which is exactly what “Tena” represents. Modern lyrics were added to the traditional song text to reflect contemporary society. A traditional location — an old-style house — and a modern setting — a café — are both shown. Traditional and modern styles of clothing are also presented: folk costumes and contemporary attire. Listen and see how it sounds and looks as performed by the members of KUD “Tena”.

ABOUT US

Cultural and artistic society “Tena” from Đakovo is a true guardian of the tradition of the city of Đakovo, Slavonia, but also the entire Republic of Croatia. The folklore society has been active since 1985, and currently has about 200 members divided into several sections. Our members work tirelessly in the field of cultural preservation, preparing concerts for performances throughout the country and the world, and on most continents we have already presented our extremely rich Croatian cultural tradition. Presenting Croatian tradition, culture and customs, we leave behind an indelible trace of our Croatian cultural heritage, which we are immensely proud of.

Acting under the motto Let the song lead us to love and harmony, we turn the love of folklore and folklore heritage into art that has no boundaries. This is also evident from our performances, where not only the precision of the song and dance is evident, but also the energy that the singers, dancers and tamburitza players create on stage and transmit to the audience.

The certificate of excellence, which we have been holding since 2019, also testifies to how important quality is to us. This certificate is awarded by the Croatian section of the world folklore organization CIOFF according to its criteria, and KUD “Tena” is the first cultural and artistic society in Croatia to receive it.
